Fishing Charters St Simons and Jekyll Island, Georgia

We offer five basic fishing charters: 2 hours – 3 hours- 4 hours – 6 hours – and fly fishing trips. These fishing charters are available for departures from both St Simons Island and Jekyll Island, Georgia. It’s important to consider your goals to ensure you have the best trip. If you are looking to really get the most out of your fishing charter, planning in advance, I recommend a longer trip of 6 or 8 hours. However, if you are a vacationing family just visiting St. Simons for a few days and would like a short trip, 4 hours might be prefect.

On most of our charters target inshore and near shore species including Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Sharks and Tripletail. Other fish are regularly encountered but these are the main species that we target. It is best to contact the captain well in advance to schedule trips during peak seasons and holidays. Contact us early in the summer months as we typically book up two weeks in advance.

If you have a group that is larger than 4 people we can accommodate that as well. We have a great group of fishing guides in the area, I am confident that all of the captains will have the knowledge and equipment needed to make your fishing trip a success. Please allow extra time for booking group fishing charters, it may take longer to get all of the extra guides booked.

What We Provide for the Fishing Charter

We provide all tackle necessary for your fishing charter. If you have a favorite rod and reel that you would like to bring please just let your guide know ahead of time so that he can leave room in the boat for it. A cooler is provided with ice for your drinks, bring only your drinks in a bag. An extra cooler on the boat will only get in the way while you are fishing. We also provide fish cleaning if you keep your catch. Your fishing guide will clean and bag your fish for you, so an empty cooler in your car is best to take them home in.

We will also provide the bait at no extra cost. We will have live and artificial baits available at no extra cost to our clients, some other companies either charge extra for live bait or put a limit on how much bait is included in there price.

What You Need to Bring for Your Fishing Trip

Some items that you should bring are sunscreen (please no spray sunscreen, it turns the boat orange), a hat, camera, and any food and drinks. Alcoholic drinks are ok to bring as well, as long as you know your limits so we can keep everyone safe on the boat. We are rarely in rough water, but if you are prone to sea sickness, it is best to take something the night before, and the morning of your trip. Mainly when Tripletail fishing or Shark fishing behind the shrimp boats, we will be fishing in rolling swells, so plan ahead with Dramamine or Bonine to make sure you don’t miss out on the fun. Capt. Jeff provides a fully guided trip. If you need instruction he can help you. If you are experienced, he will guide you. Capt. Jeff is on the boat early getting things ready for your day of fishing and after you return, he cleans your fish, he will be on the boat for another hour cleaning up for the next trip. If you think your guide has provided excellent service, it is customary to tip. Generally, the same guidelines as tipping a waitress apply. Of course, there is no obligation to tip.
