Fly Fishing St Simons Island

Untitled 3

For backcountry enthusiasts that prefer the ultimate challenge, we offer fly fishing trips year round.

Winter brings water clarity and aggressive fish as the oxygen levels increase. Sight fishing will be at its peak as we find fish floating on the flats and huddled in schools in winding creeks.

Spring, summer, and fall we fish deep in the marsh for low tide Redfish, but perhaps the most popular option is flood tide Redfish. Around the new and full moons the marshes will fill as we have higher than normal tides. The Redfish take advantage of these tides as they offer access to feeding grounds that are typically not accessible to the fish during lower tide cycles.

When you find the tailing Redfish on a flood tide, they eat. They have no other reason to be on the flooded flats other than to eat as many fiddler crabs and shrimp as they can. A properly placed fly stands no chance.
